Why Snoring Annoys?

Have you ever thought why we only snore when we are asleep even though we keep breathing all the time?

Well, that was a question that fluxed quite many people till it was found out that due to relaxed throat muscles, and increased fat layers on the throat aids snoring. The continuous inhaling and exhaling pressurizes the airways tensing the muscles while we are awake. For strength in the airways, there are numerous muscles that provide the rigidity required to keep breathing adequately but when we sleep, not only does the body and mind get relaxed and rests but even the muscles relax. When the throat and mouth muscles relax, it narrows the air passages and leads to snoring. It may not seem like a big deal for those who do not suffer from any breathing disorder, but those who have sleep or snoring issues need to be aware of possibilities of sleep apnea.

Sleep apnea occurs when heavy snoring goes untreated and a person stops breathing while sleeping due to partial or total blockage in the air passages. Over relaxed muscles and tissue falls back into the throat causing disrupted and blocked breathing leading to fatal consequences.

With irregular breathing and constant disruption due to snoring, the muscles relax and air passages narrow down due to not enough pressure for the muscles to be tense. In severe snoring case, there is complete blockage and a person suffering from sleep apnea tends to choke and gasp for breath for over 10 seconds in many cases.

So how do you avoid reaching a stage when snoring turns into a leading reason for sleep apnea?

If you are looking for a solution to end snoring, try some of the over the counter drug store applications such as nose strips, throat sprays, the new clinically tested Asonor nasal solution or there are some alternative medicine treatments like aromatherapy and homeopathy that can help reduce the extra relaxation of throat muscles.

Once you tend to sleep well, with help from these non invasive treatments, the oxygen levels come back to their optimized levels and will allow REM or deep sleep that gets you feeling fresh and bright. When the body is constantly awakened from deep sleep, like when obstructions arise, the constant sleep interruptions lead to constant need to fight sleep deprivation without success. It is due to these debilitating nightly disturbances that sleep-snoring research has attained better results and helped develop clinically tested anti snoring drops and sprays.

For mild and moderate snoring you can even try sleeping on the side, avoiding dairy products before bedtime, controlling your alcohol intake and stop smoking. Moderate exercise and even Yoga is known to increase oxygen in the brain with better blood circulation. Weight loss and diet changes can also help in the long run. Not only will these lifestyle changes help you avoid snoring to some extend but get your health back on track.

It is never too late to begin but its best to look for an effective anti snoring remedy so that you remain healthy and fit.

Learn about snoring and its effects

Any noise caused during sleeping emitted through the respiratory track is known as snoring. The vibration caused in the air passages that connect the nose and the mouth due to extra relaxed throat muscles causes a person to snore.

Narrower the air passes, more vibration it produces as air forces itself out causing the loud snores. However, it is not necessary that a person snores at night only as snoring is induced whenever the throat muscles relax and it can happen each time the person takes a nap also. The tissues inside the throat become very soft and relaxed, when the person sleeps just like other muscles in the body. Thus the air passages narrow down and when we breathe, the inhalation and exhalation causes the tissues to vibrate leading to the noise. The snores can range from mild to heavy, which actually depends upon the pressure of air being passed which is directly proportionate to the noise it produces.

Snoring is not restricted to adults only but even babies’ snore sometimes. If you have a baby or a child who snores regularly, show him to a doctor immediately as it may be a sign of respiratory disease or an allergy. There are many reasons that a person snores which include allergies, side effect of some medicines, intake of dairy products at bedtime and many others.

However, a lingering question always persists as to why is that men snore more than women?

Well, after a considerable amount of research, it was found out that men snore more as men’s neck is wider than a woman’s and thus, there is more fatty deposits and fleshy tissue that vibrates in comparison to a women’s neck.

Women also produce Progesterone hormone that is considered to help reduce or to some extent prevent snoring. Looking at it objectively, there are various lifestyle changes that are required if you are thinking about improving your life and eliminating snoring. Obesity, extra weight and habits of drinking and smoking go a great length to increase chances of snoring. However, proper diet and exercise can definitely aid in reducing snoring.

To combat habitual night time snores, there are many over the counter medication and other devices that are known to have helped people. Nasal and throat sprays help in lubricating the air passages and can help reduce the obnoxious noise that snoring produces by reducing or completely eliminating snoring from the bedroom. Apart from the health issues that snoring accompanies, snoring creates rift between couples. It is immaterial whether you are married or living in, but due to snoring the intimacy is ripped apart while the non snoring partner leaves the bedroom to catch up on the much needed sleep which is not possible while sleeping with a snoring partner.

Why do we people snore?

Vibrations of the soft tissues located at the back of the throats cause the noisy, annoying sounds of snoring that prevent non-snorers from getting their sleep.

The palate, uvula and tonsils are the tissue structures that flap against each other when someone has too much tissue at the back of their mouth or when an obstruction is blocking the air passageway to the back of the throat. Therefore, snoring is a sign of troubled breathing during sleep. The louder the snoring sound, the narrower the opening in the throat.
